Bringing the Gospel to the Most Unexpected Places—One Song at a Time
We are a community of songwriting believers on a mission to bring the hope and light of the gospel on the wings of song to the stages Christ came for– the lost, the last, and the least.
Jesus wasn’t afraid to sit with the broken, the outcast, or the misunderstood. He was found at dinner tables with sinners, performing miracles at weddings, and walking into the messiness of real life. If He were here today, we believe He’d still be showing up in the bar down the street, the hospital hallway, the prison yard, and the quiet room of a nursing home.
We’re following His lead.
We’re Jesus in a Bar—a nonprofit family of songwriting believers bringing the gospel to places the church sometimes overlooks. Through songs and stories, we carry hope into dark and unexpected spaces.
Where we play…
Bars
Nights of music and testimony in places where people are searching for community and meaning
Nursing Homes
Reminding the elderly they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.
Prisons
Reminding the elderly they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.
But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Matthew 9:12-13
When music meets mission…
“I went from a chronically ill, country singer songwriter, struggling with anxiety and my purpose, to walking in the path God has created for me, finding peace, true joy, healing, and purpose in sharing with the world what it’s like to live life with Jesus. Jesus in a Bar giving songwriters the opportunity to go into underserved groups of people to share the gospel is the most life-giving experience on every end.”
Olivia Farabaugh, artist
“You WILL feel Jesus when ANY of their “musicianaries” perform in a bar, prison, or rescue mission. Anytime Jesus in a Bar brings their music to our Coffee House we are blessed beyond measure with, not only original music, but true- life testimony that resonates with our audience of men in the Life Recovery Program.”
Barbara McGee, Nashville Rescue Mission
“Their warmth and kindness shine through in every interaction. The group’s commitment to inclusivity is particularly notable. They go above and beyond by making an effort to reach residents who may not be able to come to them.”
Stephanie Sebring, Green Hills Center For Rehabilitation
